Lose that and it's the same as losing any other primary system you use with all the headaches that goes with such loss. The 4+1 VRM setup is too weak to reliably hit 5.0.īased on the individual chip, you may or may not get it with that board because some chips are willing to go up without complaint and some aren't.īTW from what I'm seeing here, ATM it's your daily so do be careful with it. While getting a new computer would be nice, I must stress this again (since someone will say it), I'm fine with how it runs, this is just for giggles as I'm honestly bored right now tonight and feel like tinkering. 1GHz out of it? Or would I be dangerously close to the max on the 4+1 VRM's? At most under cinebench it only reached 64c and never went any higher. My BIOS does incorrectly report 80c (70c if I put it in S3 sleep state and wake it, another BIOS bug). Should I try and push it a little further, or leave it here? I know the FX Piledriver's have low tjmax's compared to other CPU's (supposedly 60c max). Remember, I'm actually fine with how it runs, but I want to have a little fun. But, as funny of a time as I had, it actually has worked remarkably well.Īs of right now I can run Prime95 with no crashes, and nothing gets overly hot, and it hasn't crashed whatsoever. So in all honesty, this is just for fun as I'm perfectly happy with my 4.3GHz overclock, considering my motherboard only has 4+1 VRM's, but they run fairly cool and are heatsinked, and surrounded my fans, and I mean A LOT of fans (absurdly so, again was just having fun when I got bored and wanted something to do, so I loaded it up with as many as I could cram in there).
